La Quercia

Past and future

For a parquet which stands the test of time

Solid, characterised by a robust and wide trunk, capable of living for centuries. The oak is a plant which has fascinated mankind over the centuries and is interpreted in numerous variations for the creation of parquets. Oak is rich in colour variations and adapts to different architectonic styles, be they contemporary, past or futuristic.

Oak is a versatile wood. Thanks to its infinitely rich expressive potential, it decorates interiors, becoming an absolute protagonist, or provides a discrete base for a harmonious design, without ever compromising in terms of elegance. Exalting the naturalness of raw material means enabling its light and beauty to emerge, while also engaging it in a dialogue congenial to the evolution and exploration of new variations. In this sense oak parquet becomes an admirable synthesis of nature's perfection and man's skill.

A good deal of oak's allure depends on time: the time it takes for the tree to develop is also the time required for the wood to write its own history, further enriched when oak becomes flooring for everyday living. Past meets present to write the future: this is certainly the case of oak flooring made from antique or recycled wood. Old flooring, as well as beams and barrels, all bear the signs of the passing of time and become an elegant testimonial for a parquet which connects yesterday to today and tomorrow.

RANGE OF PATINAS

La Quercia is exclusively made from European Oak. Stains acting with the tannic acids present in Oak wood colour surface in a heterogeneous and unpredictable way. The handcraft component completes the final result highlighting the aesthetics.
Patinas are differ in relation to the aging bases and on-site-applied or industrially-applied oil / wax finishes. Stained and non – stained patinas compose then a wide range of products.

THE STAINED COLLECTIONS

Staining each single piece of wood with water based stains we are speeding up the superficial ageing process of the oak wood, like it is happening in time. Natural staining refers to wood very heterogeneous colour that is impossible to reproduce in an industrial way.

Fumo (GF) is a base of all other types of stained collections.
